Day 22 - York to Edinburgh

Today we left York and travelled via Carlisle to Edinburgh. We didn't intend to make it all the way but made good time. We came through some of the most beautiful English countryside - Yorkshire, North Pennines and Cumbria and then onto the Scottish Borders and into Edinburgh.

Beautiful countryside, amazing dry stone walls creating tiny paddocks with sheep, horses, cattle and occasionally crops - mainly canola. Lots of black faced sheep with lambs on steep hillsides. The sheep were woolly - long raggedy untidy wool and the lambs along with the mums with long tails. Lots of dirty tail ends but obviously no problems with fly strike.

At Carlisle we had lunch in a local pub and then Jenny went shopping at Linton Tweed Mills.

As we are a day earlier into Edinburgh we have booked into a motel and Channe is meeting up with her school friend Brogan for a night on the town!
